Straight win for River Ward Conservatives - both Craig Mackinlay and Andrew Mackness were elected on May 5th as the new Ward Councillors
in River.
Commenting on the results, Cllr Craig Mackinlay said "Our thanks go to all who supported us and who were determined, as we
were, to make River Ward all Blue again after the trials of last year's by-elections. We pay tribute to John Jones, who held the seat
briefly for Labour after October 21st last year, who proved himself to be a hard-working and thoroughly decent adversary."
Turnout was approximately 36%.
Conservatives 51.8%, Labour 37.7%. Lib-Dems and Greens both on 5.3%
